Regular Meetings
Members meet on a regular basis to share resources, develop skills, plan programs, and support each other in many ways.
All are welcome to attend these gatherings! Often the Story Circle Program and Member Meetings are the first contact we have with new immigrants and refugees or with new members and friends of PAIRWN, who hear about the Story Circles and come to learn more about our organization.
These meetings take place in two parts. Firstly, we hold a Story Circle. Immigrant and refugee women are encouraged to come and share their stories of their journey to Pennsylvania, to meet women who have had similar experiences, and to practice their English in a casual, friendly atmosphere. A counselor attends each Story Circle to assist any participants with feelings and emotions that may be generated by recalling a difficult time in their life or trying to cope with adjusting to a new life. After the Story Circle, we hold a Member Meeting that updates our members on PAIRWN events and goals.
