Family Advocacy

PAIRWN advocates and supports elementary students in the Harrisburg School District with limited English ability.

Afterschool programs include:

  • Weekly tutoring
  • Homework help
  • Test preparation after school hours.

Sessions may be intergenerational, allowing parents to feel connected with their children’s schoolwork and providing networking opportunities. The intent is to equip parents to assist their children and provide students with academic support.

Workshops on the education system are also provided to help immigrant and refugee families navigate academic expectations, mandatory testing, the college application process and American cultural norms.
